Watercolor Fleet FAQ

When using an LSV (low speed vehicle cart) in WaterColor, you must follow all WaterColor LSV rules and policies, including rules regarding where you can drive and park your LSV as well as who can drive an LSV.  You can obtain copies of all applicable rules and policies from your rental management company. You must also follow all Walton County ordinances when operating or parking your LSV in WaterColor.  Safety of the occupants of the LSV and other vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists are of paramount importance. SAFETY AND AGE REQUIREMENTS
Q: How old do you have to be to rent an LSV?
A: We require our guests to be 25 or older to rent from the Electric Cart Company.

Q: How old do you have to be to drive an LSV?
A: We require our guests to be 21 or older with a valid driver’s license to drive an LSV.

Q: Do all Florida and local rules of the road apply to driving and parking LSVs?
A: Yes.  Safety of all occupants of an LSV as well as the safety of other vehicles, pedestrians and bicyclists is of paramount importance. Violations are subject to all applicable sanctions, including citations, fines, booting, towing and arrest.

Q: What happens if I receive a parking ticket from WaterColor Security?
A: You are responsible for your parking citations and fines while operating our vehicle in WaterColor. We reserve the right to charge the credit card on file for any unpaid violations during your rental period, regardless of the time frame.

Q: How many drivers can I have?
A: You may have a total of three drivers. All drivers are required to be licensed and 21 years or older. If you are pulled over and driving underage, driving recklessly, or driving under the influence, we will be contacted by security or the Walton County Sheriff's office at which point the LSV will be confiscated with no refund.

Q: What are the rules for children riding in the LSV?
A: LSVs are registered as automobiles; all laws mirror the use of the LSV as does your automobile. No lap riding, and if a child requires an LSV seat in your automobile, they must be in a car seat in the LSV.

Q: Who do I call if I have an emergency after hours that cannot wait until the office opens?
A: Although we are not a 24-hr service, we have an emergency text line and will respond at our earliest convenience 850-988-7758.
 
WATERCOLOR USAGE
Q: Where can I drive the LSV inside WaterColor?
A: You can only drive the LSV on public roads and alleys. You may not drive or park the LSV on grass or other landscaped areas, sidewalks, walking trails, bike paths or bridges inside WaterColor.
 
Q: Where can I park in WaterColor?
A: You can only park the LSV in valid designated LSV or automobile parking spaces. If you do not park in a valid parking space, security may issue you a citation or put a boot on the LSV.  You will have to call and pay your citation to have it removed. If found in violation, the Walton County Sheriff's office can also issue a ticket and or have the LSV towed.
 
Q: How many LSVs can I book in WaterColor?
A: WaterColor HOA only permits us to rent one LSV per address in WaterColor.  We are not permitted to rent LSVs to homes in WaterColor that have an Owner’s LSV currently registered to that address.  We are not permitted to rent to WaterColor condominiums.
 
Q: Where can I charge my LSV?
A: You can only charge your LSV at an electrical outlet located on the property you have rented or identified public charging outlets.  You may not charge your LSV on anyone else’s property or in electrical outlets in common areas.

Q: How loud may we play music while riding through the community?
A: Watercolor is a private residential multi-generational community and asks that all be courteous within the community and refrain from vulgar lyrics and excessive volume levels disturbing others. Compliance with the Walton County Noise ordinance will be enforced. Walton County Noise Ordinance Link

Q: WaterColor Trolley:
A: WaterColor runs a trolley service seasonally seven days a week from 8am-5pm. Times are subject to change. They will transport you on a route throughout the community stopping at various amenities: 850.420.4650

Q: Where is the rental lot to pick up my LSV located in WaterColor:
A: Our lot is located behind the Publix in WaterColor on Pine Grove Circle, pick up is between 3pm – 6pm and return is no later than 10:00 am. Please bring your valid driver's license and reservation confirmation.
 
Miscellaneous
Q: Where can I drive the LSV outside of WaterColor?
A: Our LSVs are registered through the DMV as an automobile. You may drive the LSV solely on the road south of the Publix in WaterColor and on CO HWY 30A. Seaside has designated golf LSV parking. You may take the LSV as far west as Gulf Place and as far East to the HUB. Rosemary Beach, Watersound, and Alys Beach are off limits for the LSVs as you will receive a citation from their community’s security.   LSV Map Link

Q: How do I charge my LSV?
A: We supply the specialty charging cord for keeping your LSV charged. The cord is 25ft long. If for any reason this cord is not long enough to reach your outlet, please reach out to us and we can arrange for you to pick an additional standard extension cord from the lot.

Q: How can I tell if my LSV is charging?
A: When the charging cord is plugged into the outlet and the LSV is turned off, make sure the speedometer dial is lit up. If the dial is not illuminating, the GFI switch on the home needs to be reset for the outlet.
 
Q: How long does it take to charge the LSV?
A: The LSV when fully charged will provide a 30-mile range. It takes overnight to fully charge the LSV back to 100%

Q: Can I pick my LSV up before 3:00 pm?
A: Our standard pickup time is 3pm, should we have your LSV available before 3pm a staff member will reach out via text or phone call.

Q: What’s the earliest I can return my LSV?
A: We have a drop box located at our lot, you may return at any time, placing your key and charge cord in our drop box.

Q: Who can pick up the LSV?
A: Unless previously arranged through email (rentals@electriccartcompany.com), the authorized renter must be present at the time of pickup.

Q: What’s the latest I can return my LSV?
A: The LSVs are due back by 10:00 am fully charged. If the LSV is returned without being fully charged, you will be charged an additional daily rate.

Q: What happens if I receive a parking ticket from the Walton County Sheriff’s Department?
A: You are responsible for all parking and moving violations while in possession of the LSV. Please pay the citation before you return the vehicle. If we receive notice of an unpaid parking violation, we reserve the right to charge your card on file regardless of the timeframe.
 
Q: What happens if someone hits me?
A: If you are in an accident while present, please call 850.892.8111 – non-emergency number or 911 to file a report just as you would if you were in an accident in your own vehicle. If you discover damage done to the LSV while not present, please bring the LSV to the lot for damage assessment for cost of repair. The cost of repair will be the renter's responsibility to pay.

Q: What do I do if I lose my key?
A: Please contact us during business hours. Key replacement cost is $50 if we have a spare on hand. If the ignition needs to be changed with a new key set, the cost is $130.
 
Q: My key won’t turn in the ignition?
A: The steering wheel is locked. Turn the steering wheel back and forth as you would in your automobile to unlock the ignition.

Q: My Parking brake is stuck?
A: The parking brake does not need to be pulled back any further than lined up with the dash right above it. Over extending can cause the brake to lock. Grab the parking brake arm and pull back on slightly until you can push the release button in to release the brake back down.

Q: Can I decorate the LSV?
A: Any decorations placed on the LSV need to be removed before returning the LSV. Please do not adhere to any decorations to the body panels as it causes damage. Remove ALL trash before returning the LSV.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: You may cancel your reservation up to Fourteen (14) days prior to the scheduled delivery of the LSV forfeiting your $100.00 administration fee. Cancellation request must be emailed to rentals@electriccartcompany.com
